Editorial Policy
Everything on this site comes from what each venue publishes about itself. We do not take opening hours or prices from review sites, aggregators or other guides.
Where the information comes from
- Venues — the venue's own website or official social account. Each venue page links to it.
- Public spaces, rules and transport — the Tokyo Metropolitan Government, the ward office, the police, the Japan National Tourism Organization, or the railway company.
We read the whole page before we use anything from it, and we record the date we read it.
What we leave out
Where a venue's own pages disagree with each other — two different cover charges, two different opening times — we leave the figure out rather than pick one. Where a venue does not publish something, the page says so instead of filling the gap with a guess.
What we do not do
- We do not rank venues, score them, or call anything the best.
- We are not paid by the venues listed here. Nobody can buy a listing or a better position.
- We do not use review-site content.
Keeping it current
Hours and prices change. We re-check the venues listed here and update the pages; a page may still be behind the venue, so please confirm anything that matters to you — a closing time, a charge — before you go.
Corrections
If you find something wrong, tell us and we will fix it. Contact details are on the About page. If you run a venue listed here and want a detail changed or the page removed, we will do it.
